The Rain Man
When the Rain Falls Down on Me, rhani, sketch, pencil on paper, 1995-2007
When you came…
You cast the rain to fall down on me
Made me wet all over..
Cause I didn’t bring my umbrella, nor my raincoat…
I wasn’t prepared
The needle-like raindrops hit my flesh, through my bones..
waking me up from my dream
Made me realize that those flowers weren’t real..
That the beautiful meadow was just not there..
That I was there on the street.. all alone.. all soaking wet..
Ouch
Being suddenly awaken, shocked by the sudden emptiness inside,
I could feel my tears slowly running down my cheeks..
And through the curtain of falling rain I could see you staring at me from afar.
Quietly I thanked you..
for the rain you’d caused disguised my tears
And so, to cheer me up you said:
There should be sunshine after the rain..
There should be laughter after the pain..
I knew that you took those lines from a song..
but you DID make me feel better..
And it was sweet…
At the fact that I was left alone under the pouring rain..
I know for sure that if you are near.. you will, without hesitation, lend your shoulder for me to cry on…
Thanks buddy..
my Rain Man…
this post is dedicated to my Rain Man.. I hope you don’t mind the name I gave you
